Which is why we aren’t going to just tell you about Urban Wild…
We’re going to show you.
Though it’s located just a few turns off the highway in Charlestown, Urban Wild is truly like nowhere you’ve ever been, with an entrance that Director of Events Katie Lofstrom says will lead you straight to a world full of entertainment magic.
“So when you walk through our Wonderland-like tunnel, endless options await. You can start with 14 lanes of Spark digital bowling technology, where you can play games within the game. You can take a selfie or put a picture of your boss on the lane and bowl into it. We have a giant beer garden that we're standing in now that we have live music on the stage we also show all of our New England sports teams games on this 12-foot screen behind us it's really become the spot to watch all the action.”
“We also have indoor patios and outdoor patios. The indoor patio boasts custom shuffleboards and Mario Kart that you can play while you're sitting at the bar and ordering food. Out on the outdoor patios, we have ping pong, LED ping pong, bocce, croquet, cornhole, giant Jenga and so much more.”
And while that’s impressive already, it still doesn’t do this place justice.
The beer garden? It boasts 180 seats and is covered in bold, custom pop art installations.
The indoor patio where you can play Mario Kart while being served appetizers? It’s basically the cool basement hangout spot you always dreamed about as a teenager.
And the bowling? Well, we’ll let Katie describe it.
“This isn't your average alley or your average bar. We really wanted to elevate everything. So even in the bowling lounges, they are elegant with chandeliers and custom furniture. We have bowling concierges that take care of you. We have Nike, designer, custom bowling shoes that you can rent. So everything is really next level. And if you want to order a bottle of Cristal, we can do that too.”
And while we seldom turn down a good bottle of champagne, at Urban Wild, the real star of the drink menu is the group cooler cocktail which is… kind of exactly what it sounds like — in the best way possible.
“We have these giant coolers we had custom-made — our Urban Wild coolers — that you can feed four to six. I guess with college, four to six people can share it. Giant bendy straws and amazing garnishes, really, really fun ingredients. We have a new one that is called the electric lemonade. That is housemade lemonade and blackberry syrup and crop organic lemon vodka, with a couple dashes of Kool Aid just for fun.”

Attention-grabbing isn’t just a word you would use to describe Urban Wild’s approach to drinks, but to food, too.
“The food is excellent. It's unique. It's a lot of fun. We focused on shareable appetizers, things that are easy to eat while you're playing the games, and things that are easy to share.”
Some of these share-worthy apps include tuna poke nachos…
“So sesame-marinated tuna, edamame, avocado, cucumber, jalapeno, like diced red bell pepper, a wasabi aoli, and super fresh. Just put on these amazing, like, house-fried wonton chips. They are really, really special.”
There’s A jumbo, Bavarian-style pretzel served with honey mustard and beer queso…
Double smoked wings doused with your choice of barbecue or Buffalo sauces…
And Street corn dip…
“This is becoming really popular, I guess everywhere, right? But ours is just absolutely delicious. So roasted fresh corn, lime, chili, cotija cheese, little bit of diced jalapeno, and we make the chips in-house and they're flavored with Tajin. So really just delicious appetizer.”
And then there’s an epic mozzarella stick that measures one foot long. And if you’re thinking, ‘Does a mozzarella stick really need to be an entire foot long?’, Katie has the obvious answer.
“The mozzarella stick is a foot long because why have a smaller one when you can have a footlong mozzarella stick?”
After some drinks, some apps, and a few rounds of bowling, you may want to move on to the main course, which includes a crispy chicken sandwich…
“Our crispy chicken sandwich is a marinated thigh, juicy and coated in Chef's signature 15-spice blend, offset with some yummy housemade dill pickles and a ranch sauce. It's so delicious.”
The Pizza is made on a fresh, crusty loaf of French bread…
And you might want to return, for the Return of the Mac Burger.
“So the Return of the Mac Smashburger is all about that special sauce. Not something it's very clean to eat very messy, and we like it that way. Definitely must order definitely wash your hands before you return to bowling.”
