Ristorante Marcellino

Waltham, Massachusetts has become a hotbed of great restaurants over the past few years. And Ristorante Marcellino is one of the best Italian places in Waltham, or in all of New England for that matter.

Atmosphere(9)

Very spacious, classic, and charming. Open kitchen adds a nice touch.

Menu(8)

7 "primi" pasta options and 7 "secondi" entree options. Daily specials offered as well. Not a huge menu, but it is inventive enough to cover all the bases.

Portions(8)

The Phantom kicked himself when he couldn't finish Everything on his plate. But he kissed himself 2 hours later when he ate the left overs.

Appetizers(9)

Hearty pasta e fagioli. Daily bruchetta is some of the best the Phantom's ever had. Pizza is as thin as it is delicious.

Food and Drink(9)

Incredible. Amazing. Outstanding. Phantom-licious. Every ingredient is of the highest quality. Brilliant chefs prepare this authentic Italian food with a flare. Grilled chicken with cherry glaze as good as it gets.

Desserts(9)

12 selections-- each one sweeter, better, and more fattening than the next. Get the sampler-- it feeds at least two.

Service(9)

Extremely professional. The chef himself came to the table and explained the difference between minestrone and pasta e fagioli soups.

Cleanliness(10)

Cleaner than a research laboratory.

Parking(8)

On Cooper Street in Waltham. A bit difficult to find, but the parking is no problem.

Value(9)

Appetizers average $8. Pastas cost between $9 and $14. Dinner entrees run between $12 and $19. The prices were so reasonable, even the Phantom left a large tip.
