Love Farms
Fresh from the farm.
Fired in the kitchen.
And served with a side of live music.
With just one bite, you’ll fall head over heels for Love Farms.
Spread across this lively property in Dennis, Love Farms is equal parts restaurant, farm, and gathering place.
“Love Farms is a wonderful place where the community can come, enjoy locally sourced food, and be able to experience a farm and atmosphere with live music and entertainment. It's a great vibe.”
And for managing partner John McCarthy, Love Farms isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a destination.
“You walk in the door of Love Farms and you have our beautiful market. We have two beautiful bars, a ton of outdoor seating, and it's all centered on our stage where we have bands playing all summer long. There's a large grass area for families and kids. You can take a tour of our working farm. We have an acre and a half of regenerative farming, as well as some livestock and some animals that you can visit. It's an amazing atmosphere for people to come and enjoy the community that we bring.”
And working with all of that farm-fresh produce is a kitchen led by Executive Chef Kevin Curtin.
“We just really try and highlight beautiful ingredients. That's your job as a chef. You start with really beautiful product and try and service that product and put something beautiful and delicious in front of a guest.”
At Love Farms, breakfast isn’t just the most important meal of the day, it’s the most delicious.
With offerings like Farm Hash, made with their own root vegetables, zaatar and sumac, and topped with two fresh eggs.
Or get your day going with their epic Love Farms Breakfast Sandwich.
“It's served with an over-easy egg, caramelized onions, avocado, a garlic and herb aioli, smoked brisket that we then thinly slice, and then we pick it up on the plancha so it gets real crispy. The highlight of that sandwich is the everything bagel that we make in-house. It's delicious.”
When lunch and dinner roll around, you’ll find a menu that blends comfort food with culinary creativity, including a lineup of wood-fired pizzas.
For fans of that fresh Cape seafood, try their Lobster Pizza. A pie that starts with a crème fraîche base and is topped with asparagus and lots of that sweet lobster meat.
And for a classic New England comfort food on a pizza, order the Yankee Pot Roast.
“It's a short rib-based pizza with short ribs and cheese, and then it gets topped with smoked carrots. Then we make potato chips and fry those on top. So you get all the components of a Yankee pot roast put onto a single slice of pizza. You got to try it.”
If you want something completely unique, order the Khachapuri.
“So Khachapuri is a Georgian-style shareable bread. It's filled with feta, raclette, mozzarella, and fontina. It gets topped with an egg yolk from the farm, some urfa chili, and some butter. Then when the server brings it over to your table, they take two knives and scramble that yolk into the melted cheese. Traditionally you're supposed to tear the outside of the bread and dip it through the cheese.”
Love Farms also offers a lineup of sensational starters.
From hearth-roasted clams crowned with crispy smoked ham, to twice-cooked sunchokes paired with a bright lemon-dill aioli, and indulgent Lobster Deviled Eggs.
“The eggs are from our farm, where we have 100 laying hens. We do a pretty traditional filling, and then it just gets three ounces of lobster salad on top. It's a little unique, and it's a great bite to start your meal.”
If you prefer to go the more traditional route with your lobster, order a Lobster Roll, lightly tossed in a lemon and dill aioli and served on buttery brioche.
And for an Asian twist on a French classic, try the Lobster Tempura.
“We wanted to do a playful take on a lobster thermidor. We take a pound-and-a-quarter lobster, shuck it, and tempura the lobster itself along with some vegetables and mushrooms. Then it gets served with some Thermidor sauce for you to dip it in. So it's a really playful take on a dish.”
There are crave-worthy handhelds like the aptly named Cape Grazer, featuring two smashed patties topped with blue cheese and bacon jam.
And thoughtful entrées like these seared scallops with fregola sarda and sweet peas.
“They're local scallops. Then we make a green sauce with ramps, arugula, and some peas, and we serve it with fregola sarda. In the bowl is the fregola sarda and the peas. Then there are pickled ramps on top that accompany the scallops. It's a really flavorful bite.”
Deciding how to end your meal is nearly impossible, with an ever-changing lineup of housemade desserts like the lemon posset, a bright and creamy treat served with shortbread cookies for dipping, or this sweet take on a calzone.
“We fold a piece of dough in half. We bake it in the oven. We make a cookie dough and brownie filling with scoops of vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. It looks like a calzone filled with ice cream.”
And from the first bite to the final note, you can’t help falling for Love Farms.
“We feel people should come to Love Farms because of the vibe that we create. And it's not just a culinary vibe. It's just an amazing place where we're trying to bring the whole community and Cape together.”
