Jimmy’s Pub And Restaurant
The waitstaff at Jimmy's Pub and Restaurant in Mansfield Center is what makes this upscale pub work.
Atmosphere(8)
Pub-style restaurant with a bar area and separate smoking and non-smoking dining rooms. Plants and brass make the decor.
Menu(8)
The chef won't be confused with Todd English, but there's something for everyone on the menu.
Portions(9)
Phantom greased the sides of his chair so he could get up after his meal... even more than he usually does.
Appetizers(8)
Portabella mushroom bruchetta with marinated tomatoes pleased. Fried calamari sweet and tender. All of the usual suspects: wings, skins, fingers are all standard.
Food and Drink(8)
Mixed Grill featured excellent baby lamb chops, quality boneless chicken breast, and a half pound sirloin (that came out well done instead of medium). The Menu calls the broiled fisherman's platter "broiled to perfection", but it was more like OVERBROILED to imperfection. Scallops and shrimp special served over bowtie pasta was a pleasant surprise.
Desserts(7)
Many of these desserts come out of a box and taste that way. Chocolate Peanut Butter pie, Boston Cream Layer Cake are average. But Phantom enjoyed the Mississippi Mud Pie.
Service(9)
If this were the Miss America pageant, the servers would win the Miss Congeniality prize. Fast, funny, and energetic.
Cleanliness(9)
A very organized restaurant, which makes it easy to clean.
Parking(8)
Located in the heart of the hard-to-find Mansfield Center. Actually, Jimmy's IS Mansfield Center. Large parking lot.
Value(8)
Appetizers run between $6 and $8. Entrees from $10 to $17. A little pricey for a pub, but not enough to complain.
