For Pizza
Pizza is Aaron Smith’s true passion.
“I stare at every pizza that comes out of the oven and it makes me smile. I like knowing that I made the dough and I can make something so delicious come out of the oven. And I like making people's day. And this is a very easy way to make people's day with some delicious food.”
And he does it all FOR PIZZA.
Located in Medford, For Pizza is a small shop putting out pizza that's big on flavor and even bigger on community.
“For Pizza is a pizzeria here in Medford, Massachusetts. We give 10% of our profits right back to the local community and charities and it's what we stand for. We stand for community, we stand for charity, we stand for quality, we stand for pizza.
Aaron and the team at For Pizza also stand for customer service.
“We'll take better care of you than most restaurants that you walk into. And we genuinely care about you having a better day after you leave us. If you're coming in sad, we'll try to cheer you up. If you're coming in happy you're gonna leave happier.”
And it’s hard not to be happy when you bite into one of their crispy crunchy pizzas.
“We do south shore bar style pizza. Usually it's a 10 inch pie. We do 12 inches. Thin crust all the way through.Laced edge of sauce and cheese all the way to the edge so there's no crust on the pizza. You're going to taste the freshness of all the ingredients the sauce the cheese, the oils, the dough. Everything coming together.”
Pizza is clearly the star of the ‘For Pizza’ menu, but before you grab a slice, an appetizer is in order. There are crispy toasted ravioli, available straight up with gooey cheese or spiked with jalapenos and served with sauce for dipping. Or you can try some of Nonna’s Meatballs.
“Your best meatballs were usually made by grandma so we took all of our grandma's favorite recipes and put them together and we got our Nona’s as meatballs. The beef, the pork, the garlic the cheese the textures crispiness softest, it's a very yummy meatball.”
And for the ultimate app, try the Garlic Cheese Breadsticks.
“We take one of our pizza doughs and we spread some fresh garlic on it with some Italian seasoning and then our houseblend cheese and serve it with our red sauce. People rip into it and share. We have some regulars that come in and get a garlic cheese bread and a side of meatballs and make dinner out of that.”
When it comes to pizzas, there’s something for just about everyone. If you’re looking to light up your palate, there’s the Nashville Hot- topped with fried chicken, pickled red onions, smoked bacon and plenty of hot sauce. And for some sweet and some meat, order Harry’s Hawaiian- which you can order with bacon OR ham.
“It's sweet. It's salty, it's garlicky. It's cheesy. It's a very, very great bite of pizza. And if you're if you're not sure about pineapple on pizza, this would be the one to try.”
And for some heat with your sweet, order the Honey Roni- a pie topped with red pepper, hot honey spread and two types of pepperoni.
“Kind of happened out of happenstance. We had two types on hand and we couldn't figure out which type we wanted to use. So I said, we're going to do something with both. It's a spicy honey, but the sweetness of the honey just balances out with everything. There's a magic that happens when the honey hits that burnt charred laced edge crust. It's the best bite in the world.”
Meatlovers will want to order The Mustang pie. A pile up of tasty ground beef, pepperoni, creamy ricotta and a spicy garlic chili oil. And if you want all of that flavor of a fast food favorite, get the Mac Attack.
“The mac attack is our take on a BEEEP. Can I say BEEEEP?"
We take our dough our house red sauce and then we do a swirl of yellow mustard and then ground beef and cheese. And then we hit it with diced pickles and our Mac attack sauce you are taken away to your favorite burger spot which will remain nameless.”
And for a mashup of a pizza and a pupu platter favorite, try Lucy’s Fab Rangoon.
“I like Chinese food and I said I bet I can turn this into a pizza. We made the cream cheese and crab mix with some fried wontons and our house blend cheese. Hit it with some green onion and sweet sour sauce when it comes out of the oven. You get the crispness from the wontons you get the creaminess from the cream cheese. It’s a very very yummy pizza.”
And from apps to pies, pretty much everything is yummy, which is why this is the place to go FOR PIZZA.
