Cracker Barrel

If you delight in deep fried food as much as Phantom, than Cracker Barrel in Tewksbury, MA is definitely for you.

A fun, casual place to eat. There are games to play on every table and pictures and advertisements from decades past on every wall. And don’t forget to browse the gift shop.

A fry-daddy’s paradise Very few appetizers but a nice variety of entrees including salads, sandwiches, and fish. Even a mail order section that includes the famous ham sampler.

Phantom was satisfied, but not bursting with pleasure. Any extra room can be filled with complimentary soda refills.

The vidalia onion rings were sweet but served too greasy and a little cold. Buttermilk biscuits made up for the mistake.

Food and Drink(8)

The Country Fried Steak deep fried to order and served with gravy was tender and juicy while its mashed potatoes were a little chunky. Even though his bun’s weren’t toasted, Phantom’s half pound bacon cheeseburger smothered in Colby cheese and accompanied by crispy steak fries was one of the best.

Chocolate Cobbler lacked consistency. The chocolate peanut butter pie was tasty, but not worth the extra calories.

Phantom’s server was friendly but a little lax when it came to clearing dirty dishes. But Phantom was impressed when the restaurant manager came to make sure everything was satisfactory.

Clean from table to floor to bathroom. Even a sign asking patrons to report any dirt or grime they may see while dining.
