The ‘A’ could be for the awesome ATMOSPHERE….
Or the outstanding APPETIZERS.
“We’re not reinventing anything here. But what we do..we try to do better than anybody else.”
The ‘B’ could be for the BEAUTIFUL views OR the juicy BURGERS.
“It’s a seven ounce Niman Ranch beef patty, which is slow cooked in our C Vap oven. We finished it on the griddle caramelize that seals in the juices.”
And for this and more, you need to ‘C’ yourself to A&B Kitchen.
Located on Causeway Street, across the way from the TD Garden, A&B Kitchen is a big, fun restaurant, whether you’re going to see the B’s or C’s or not.
A&B Kitchen and Bar is an American gastropub. We opened in 2019 on Causeway street across from the TD Garden with the Bruins, the Celtics, and the concerts and we just felt our concept fit really well.”
Tom Holland is the man behind A&B Kitchen, named after his sons Alex and Benjamin, and it’s the sister restaurant to A&B Burger in Beverly. Here, he’s has created a bustling spot where not only the food is delicious, but also the view is as well.
“I personally think we have the best view in Boston…We added garage doors that cover the front of the restaurant on Causeway Street. When you’re sitting in front of one of those garage doors, you’re looking at the lit up neon signs of the TD Garden as well as the Zaikim Bridge, which lights up blue at night. It’s a fantastic location.”
And with a variety of seating options, and a diverse menu to match, everyone in your party will be happy at A&B.
“We have a 46 foot bar. We have 12 Local drafts on line. We have great lighter dishes for you’re coming here after work but you’re going to a game. You want to sit at the bar and have a quick bite. We wanted to have more choices for guests here.”
There are many ways to start your meal at A&B. But nothing pairs better with a game than some wings- and here they’re tossed in a spicy Korean sauce.
“There’s a little bit of sweetness, a little bit of spice to them. So as you’re eating them, you’re getting the sweetness on the wings. But as you’re finishing, the spice kind of hits that back of your tongue. Such a great dish.”
The Pulled Pork Nachos make for a great sharing dish- smothered with bbq pulled pork, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and a chipotle crema. And the Pork Belly Mac and Cheese is so good, you’re going to want it all for yourself.
“The Gouda, it has that smokiness to it. And then when you add pork belly, it just it brings it to another level.”
Since their sister restaurant is A&B Burgers, you can be sure the ones here at A&B Kitchen won’t disappoint. For a straightforward, no nonsense burger, try the B Burger topped with melted American cheese, arugula, tomato, onions and their world famous A&B sauce….
And for something more indulgent, there’s the Hangover Burger- topped with bacon, American cheese and a sunnyside up egg.
“When you get that runny egg and you squeeze on to the bun, and that juices the egg just kind of run over the burger. It tastes amazing and immediately cures any hangover anyone’s gonna have.”
And for something completely unique, there’s the Sweet & Salty
“We use burrata cheese, which is really nice, creamy cheese fresh arugula, and a housemade fig jam. And the balance of flavors, mixed with the beef is just phenomenal. It’s out of this world”
Other handhelds include the Burrata Caprese- made on freshly baked focaccia.
“Our chef bakes the focaccia with caramelized onions on top and then there’s buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil and Roma tomatoes, and a balsamic dressing on there. It’s a great sandwich.”
The entree section of the menu has a little something for everyone- whether you want sweet and sticky Hawaiian BBQ Ribs or the fork tender bourbon steak tips.
“The steak tips are bourbon marinated steak tips and it’s salt pepper grilled to your tasting served with Roubuchon potatoes. It’s 50% potato and 50% butter. So they’re really rich. And then served with a homemade biscuit and sauteed green beans. That’s Boston to me, steak tips are Boston. And I I’ll put mine up against anybody’s.”
And if you want to carbo-load to prepare for the big game, Tom’s Pasta Aglio e Olio is the dish to do it with.
“It’s a spaghetti pasta…tossed with fire roasted cherry tomatoes, toasted pine nuts, olive oil, garlic, that’s the alio e olio and a little bit of shaved Parmesan cheese. We also have italian sausage. This dish is just a really nice light refreshing Italian dish.”
And whether you’re here for a quick drink, or an afternoon taking in a game. You’ll always feel like you’re on the homet eam, when you’re at A&B Kitchen.
I learned a long time ago. if you don’t have a good reason to say no, you must say yes. And that’s what we all try to live by here. And for the time you’re here, whether it’s 30 minutes or..four hours, you’re going to feel like you are our guests, and you’re going to leave here hopefully knowing we did our best to get to you.”
