I love when people come here from other countries, open restaurants, hire people, and make this a more prosperous and delicious nation. And a prime beef example is my friends at Welly’s.
This menu is just like the United Nations Food Court. Actually, I don't know if there is a United Nations Food Court, but there should be.
My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken parm. I'm a huge chicken parm fan.
The chicken parm is definitely one of the top if not the top items here at Welly's. This is fresh chicken, they pound it out themselves, and then they bake it. Now most chicken parm is fried. They bake theirs which I think results in better chicken flavor. It's a really fresh marinara sauce served with Angel Hair pasta.
We like to try a lot of new things. So then when you go out you’re trying to find things for other countries, other places in order to bring to our place, you know, so let's see. Can we do this item from Mexico or from you know Scotland or from Brazil? So then we can create a new dish with that.
This is the Brazilian burger. Now it starts with a big beef patty. They do a toasted brioche bun which I absolutely love. These are potato sticks on top of the burger, a fried egg. You've got bacon, tomato, lettuce, that is your Brazilian burger. They serve fish tacos and quesadillas to cover the always increasing appetite for Mexican food around here. There's local classics like steak tips and big stuffed haddock.
Spicy cashew chicken is a really unique dish. I think it's like Brazilian food meets Chinese food. You get the delicious white meat chicken. And then it's sort of sweet, sort of savory, you've got the big cashews and then it's served over this super flavorful rice which really soaks up all the sauce. This dish is really unique and fantastic.
Me and Wemmy sat down at the bar one time and we had a cashew chicken and we say what can we do to get this better? You know so then we come up with some ideas and try some new ingredients on it.
We got the cashews from Brazil, the sweet spice chili, we got the shallots, the onions and carrots. We always often that the Phantom shows and it's just like a hit every time we do it.
We’ve been very popular for the pizza too. It’s our house made marinara sauce. Thin Crust Pizza, just like when you're when in North End and have those beautiful crust pizza crunchy and outside soften inside. It's really really delicious.
Welly’s makes a great pizza including this Caesar chicken salad pizza always a huge hit.
They're such hard workers, they open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and early for brunch Saturday and Sunday morning. Featuring items like fried french toast. That's right. Fried french toast and Nutella pancakes. These Nutella pancakes are absolutely gigantic you can put maple syrup on them but you really don't need to.
Welly’s has a great outdoor patio just check in with the hostess.
The patio will be my favorite spot to sit. I love sitting down with my kids my wife you know just a beautiful night. Anywhere in Welly’s as you sit you're gonna have a great meal great experience and you're not going to regret coming in or sitting anywhere.
If you have a friend that can't find something on this menu to like, you must defriend that person including this gigantic platter of buffalo chicken nachos. Welly's is my kind of menu and my kind of food and great craft beer selection too.
