Pizzigando
When the Phantom sees a restaurant with a name like "Pizzigando", he can't resist entering. And he was glad he did so in Sharon, Mass.
Atmosphere(9)
Pizzigando oozes with intimacy. Bright, modern decor and spacious picture windows. This is a cool place to eat.
Menu(8)
Mostly traditional entrees such as Veal Parmesan, Marsala, Shrimp Scampi, and so on. A few cutting edge innovations, but that's now what this place is all about.
Portions(9)
With a name like "Pizzigando", they have to have big plates.
Appetizers(8)
Fried cheese ravioli coated in breadcrumbs is as good as it is incredibly unhealthy. Grilled portabella mushroom caps put a smile on the Mushroom-loving Phantom.
Food and Drink(8)
Phantom scarfed down the Pizza Rosa featuring sundried tomatoes, roasted peppers, basil, and garlic with his usual gustatory elan. Steak Martha smothered in onions and mustard also hit the mark. Pizzigando calzone with eggplant and was excellent.
Desserts(9)
Thank you, Alden Merrill Chaos Pie with snickers bar and the Cappuccino silk pie are not to be missed by dessert fiends.
Service(9)
Wait staff and management went out of their way to make the Phantom feel comfortable... and they didn't even know that he was the "Phantom." Very congenial.
Cleanliness(10)
As clean as whistle, although Phantom doesn't quite understand what that saying means exactly.
Parking(8)
In the heart of downtown Sharon. Call ahead for directions if you don't know this area very well. Best accessible by Exit 10 off I-95. Small parking lot adjacent to restaurant.
Value(8)
Appetizers between $4 and $10. Entrees from $8 to $16. Good food and good prices.
