As its name implies, "The Cranebrook Restaurant and Tea Room" is elegant, sophisticated, charming, and of course, very expensive.

Straight out of Old Williamsburg with its exposed dark wood beamed ceilings, dimly lit dining room and antique furniture. Back deck overlooks a fascinating pond and wetlands.

Vintage New England colonial tavern keeps it ultra simple with a mere half dozen entrees. Call ahead to ascertain the current menu, as a new chef will be joining the restaurant in a month or so.

Not huge, but very filling. Eat every morsel slowly.

Crab fritters were delicately fried and served with an unusual remoulade sauce with roasted tomato garlic coulis. Summer squash bisque was satisfying, though not outstanding.

Salmon Roulade was magnificently prepared and elegantly presented. Char grilled grain and Dijon mustard crusted rib eye steak nearly melted in Phantom's mouth, and it was aided and abetted by a gorgonzola "Yorkshire pudding" and summer squash.
Desserts(7)
Phantom was not surprised that the dessert menu was limited. But he was disappointed that the chocolate tort was less than moist and delectable. Crème du Lait was a better choice.

Two man waitstaff was extremely polished and professional. Friendly with out being intrusive. Perfect timing with the appetizers and entrees made for a very calm and relaxing evening.

Well off the beaten trail in quaint downtown Carver. Take exit 2 off 495, then left onto Tremont St. Sufficient parking.

You better bring the plastic. Appetizers surpass double figures. Entrees AVERAGE close to $30. The food and atmosphere are impressive, but you'll have to pay dearly.
