Bonefish Harry’s
Take one part island vibe.
Lauren Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s: When you’re here you should feel just a little taste of the last vacation you’re on.
Add in some eclectic decor.
Henry Pariseau Owner, Bonefish Harrys: If you have it in your house and your wife doesn’t like it anymore, bring it in and I’ll hang it up.
Mix in plenty of fun tropical cocktails.
Lauren Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:We’ve got lots of Tiki drinks and Margaritas.
Top it off with a menu full of shareable, snackable, scratch made snacks.
Henry Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s: All of our menu is fresh, made to order, all prepped in house.
And you’ve got the recipe for Bonefish Harry’s.
Downtown Beverly Massachusetts is long way from where youd typically find a classic surfside shack, but when you step into Bonefish Harrys, you wouldn’t know it.
Henry Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:Its one of those places that as soon as the door opens, you know what youre walking into. Theres decorations from every holiday. We have a ocean vibe, we have surfboards. I lived in San Diego for a long time. So I tried to bring a nice laid back West Coast vibe. If you want to have fun, you want to have good fresh food, scratch kitchen, great cocktails, good strong drink. This is where you want to be.
That’s Henry Pariseau. He and his wife Lauren are the Big Kahunas behind Bonefish Harrys.
They’re restaurant industry veterans, but when they opened this 85 seat spot a couple years ago, they decided to make it the kind of place where they liked to eat.
Lauren Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:I came from fine dining, but when it was our day off, this is the type of restaurant that we would go to. Its got a casual atmosphere. Its got fantastic food, a great beer, wine, and cocktail selection, affordable pricing, and thats what we do here.
Now you might think that at place that looks the way Bonefish Harrys looks, the food could be a bit of an afterthought. But dont judge the kitchen by the kitschy decor.
Henry Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:When we were building this restaurant, the whole idea was to do something that surprised people. So when they walk in and they see this shanty beach look, theyre really surprised by how great our food is.
So appetizers like the Pulled Pork Egg Rolls are made from scratch, mixed, stuffed, and rolled by hand. And the same goes for the Avocado Rangoons.
Lauren Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:Avocado Rangoons are the most amazing thing that you are going to have. It is creamy avocado with corn and just the right spice blend with nice tangy cheese, and we whip it all together, stuff it into an egg roll wrapper, and fry it up so its nice and crispy. And then were going to serve it with a little bit of toasted cumin crema, and its going to be amazing.
Want some nachos? Here they take it to the next level with Totchos.
Henry Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:Well if you like nachos, youll like totchos even better, because everyone likes tater tots better than they like tortilla chips. So its tater tot nachos, loaded with jalapeno beer cheese, pico de gallo, beans, toasted cumin. We load it on top with pulled pork. They are over the top, the plate weighs about four pounds, and it is just beautiful.
If wings are your thing, there are twenty different sauces and rubs to choose from, and each one is layered with flavor, because its brined, baked, fried, then grilled.
Henry Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:Putting it on the grill gives you that nice grilled smoke flavor. And if you’ve never had a wing thats been finished on the grill after the fryer, youre missing out.
Southern California cuisine is well represented at Bonefish Harrys, especially in the form of some creative tacos. Theres the Ham Solo with crispy pork belly and pickled red onions. The Cluck Norris, a deep fried blend of buffalo chicken and mac and cheese, finished with crumbled blue cheese. The Hiker’s Delight with crispy kale, Brussels sprouts, and avocado. And the Pirate’s Booty with blackened shrimp and grilled steak tips.
Lauren Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:When you take a bite of the Pirates Booty taco, youre really going to sink your teeth into some treasure. Its going to be perfectly cooked shrimp thats been marinated to perfection. And those steak tips have just the right of smoke from the grill on them.
For a bigger handheld meal, order a burger, like the Porky, stacked with a thick cut onion ring and juicy pulled pork, or the Bossman’s Burger, with bacon, American, and lots of special sauce, all wrapped up nice and neat.
Lauren Pariseau Owner, Bonefish Harrys: We serve it wrapped in what we like to call a little burger diaper. Because for us, a true burger you cant take your hands off when youre eating so that wrapping really keeps it together because its that well stuffed.
Rounding out the menu at Bonefish Harrys are upscale entrees like beefy Braised Short Rib with mashed sweet potato, and Coconut Crusted Tuna atop Hawaiian fried rice. For dessert, try the Fried Bread Pudding Bites, or a Brookie Ice Cream Sandwich.
Lauren Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:Its not just a brownie and its not just a cookie, its a brownie in a cookie baked together. And then were going to sandwich beautiful vanilla ice cream in between it. So that way if youre a chocolate lover and a cookie lover you can have the best of both worlds.
And a meal here is like the best of both worlds too, because it feels like vacation, right in your own backyard.
Henry Pariseau – Owner, Bonefish Harry’s:Everyones here is in a rocknroll t shirt, theyre having a good time, the music’s turned up, youre going to get a good drink. Food that you can share, a place where everybody can hang out. If you have $5 you can have a good time. If you have $100 you can have a good time. Its a place for everybody.
