Backyard Burgers and Wings
Craving the warm days of thick juicy burgers grilled up fresh in the back yard?
Well it’s that kind of day every day at Back Yard Burgers.
Located in Seabrook, New Hampshire, Back Yard Burgers and Wings is a spot where summer flavors are always in season, and they’re served with a side of nostalgia.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “Going back to the old days when dad used to come out in the backyard and do the traditional grill. We kind of took that little bit of old school, brought it here. We do a good fire grilled burger, and we also do a smash burgers.”
And owner Shane Pine wanted to serve those burgers in a space that makes customers remember those days gone by.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “Back when I was a kid, everybody would go in the backyard, they’d have a cookout, they would have yard games, kind of taking that back. You know, we have like kind of the fence that’s over there, we got a lawn mower mural painting. It’s trying to take those elements and bring it to indoor comfortable eating atmosphere.”
Before you get to your burger, there are all kinds of appetizers here worth eating, like crispy juicy Fried Pickles with ranch for dipping, Poutine with thick cut potatoes, cheese, and gravy, and Fried Cheese Curds with a garlic honey drizzle, on a bed of arugula.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “You’re gonna get a little bit of the peppery from the arugula, you’re gonna get a little sweet from the honey sauce, and you’re gonna get the nice fresh hot fried cheese curd all together and it is little nuggets of deliciousness.”
Of course, since this place is named Back Yard Burgers and Wings, a basket of wings is a must order. And whether you like them dry rubbed with Cajun seasoning, or sauced with something like Habanero Mango, Shane thinks these big beauties are the best around.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “Our wings are probably the best in the Seacoast. We have a full jumbo wing, they’re the large wing, all the joints are connected. When you get an order of five wings here, it’s like a traditional ten party wing size. They’re jumbo wings and they’re enough to share for everybody. Everybody loves ‘em.”
When it comes to burgers, the options are so delicious they might make your head spin. Because these eight ounce angus patties are flame grilled, then stacked with all kinds of gourmet toppings.
There’s the Backyard Burger, with cheddar, barbecue, and plenty of bacon. The Goddess, with provolone, red onion, and guacamole. The Nuclear Tower, with thick onion rings, jalapeños, and ghost pepper cheese. And for a something a little sweet, try the Hawaiian Burger.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “Pepperjack cheese. Bacon. Grilled pineapple. Teriyaki aioli. All go on top of the burger. It’s fantastic.”
In addition to the grilled burgers, the menu here also offers West Coast style smash burgers, which happen to be Shane’s favorite way to cook ‘em.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “A smash burger is just a different way of cooking the burger. It’s actually a higher temperature heat on the grill. And you are searing the outside of the meat and actually wanting to create a crust. It adds a different flavor when you kind of caramelize and sear on the hot grill top, and when you add it all together it’s definitely a different flavor profile than your traditional burger.”
Beyond the burgers are options like a golden Fried Chicken Sandwich kicked up with chipotle aioli, a Chicken Parm Sub with housemade marinara, and a fantastic Philly-style Steak and Cheese.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “Steak and Cheese sub is one of my favorite. Fresh shaved steak, cook it on the grill, add some peppers and onions with some provolone on it, toasted sub roll and slapped all together. It’s really good, I love it.”
To round out your meal, there are Fried Cinnamon Buns topped with housemade icing and caramel, fun Margarita Flights with everchanging options, and beer that Shane brews himself.
Shane Pine – Owner, Backyard Burgers and Wings: “We make our own beer. One of our companies is Four Pines Brewing Company. And so we have about three of our beers on tap now. Burger and wing place, you’ve got to have your own beer.”
