Stock is up at Pressed Sandwiches, a hot little Financial District storefront. The artichoke-themed atmosphere is as toasty as the sandwiches themselves, which are grilled panini-style until they gush gooey cheese from their crusty clasp. For breakfast, there’s egg and cheddar on brioche. Afternoon creations include prosciutto and fig, bresaola and fontina, or tuna and artichoke. The bi-counter operation is super quick, but neighborhood suits feel right at home in the classy setting dressed up with blackboard walls and raised stools. The espresso bar steams up high octane bevies, and there’s a 2nd panini press with an outdoor patio and free WiFi access in Central Square, Cambridge.
