The unique creation is the pride of Sparky's Wings and Things in Haverhill.
It's made by making thousands of diamond-shaped cuts in the skin of the hot dog...
Then deep frying it...
So the cuts explode into crunchy spikes.
Sparky's may be hot on the hot-dog trail...
But their real specialty is wings.
Owner Jamie Pushes says he had to travel all around the state to get good wings. “There was nothing the Merrimac Valley…so I decided I would open up my own wings place. They become a passion; they become an obsession, always trying to make another great wing. Wings are more than just food; they are a way of life."
There are over 20 different flavors.
Honey-mustard wings pack a sweet and tangy punch.

Pushes says his cook happened to mix the Thai peanut and a raspberry habanero sauce together…
“You know that's peanut butter and jelly! When we tried it out on a wing it actually worked, even though I don't think it should have."
