GOURMET GREATNESS
Few seafood shacks catch their own lobsters, but Bob Lobster is the ultimate exception, reeling and dealing super fresh catches for super cheap. Live or steamed, in bake-at-home pies or mixed into a roll or a salad…their lobster is the best!

The owner is a loberstman, so count on fresh-caught Plum Island lobsters, plus fried seafood, homemade chowder, and bake-at-home lobster pie. |

Phantom began with tasty steamers that had a long neck and took to the drawn butter like a cracker in clam chowder. A fine lobster roll snuggled red speckled meat with just enough mayo and celery into a split New England style bun. |

Next, twin lobsters came uncracked, but Phantom would have chomped through those brilliant red claws with his own teeth to get at the fresh from the ocean seafood. The fried scallops were awesome, with a rich bronze color, no greasy residue, and plump juicy centers that tasted sweet and salty of the sea. |

For dessert, an amazing Triple Chocolate Brownie by Ed’s Breads packed with three kinds of chocolate chips plus peanut butter chips was the perfect underscore to a scoop of Richardson’s creamy vanilla ice cream. |

Portions are just right, and don’t forget to tie on the plastic lobster bib for good measure. |

For service, the cashier doubled up to scoop out the ice cream while scribbling down phone orders as well. |

Like the view, cleanliness was best outside at the bus-your-own picnic tables. |

Since Bob, himself, catches the lobster, it’s an amazing deal at just $9 per pound. Dinners vary from $7 to $24. |
