PHANTOM APPROVED
Sorelle Bakery is a fine slice of café heaven frequented by laptop toters, stroller pushing moms, and Freedom Trail followers. The pastries are tasty, but it’s the preppy sandwiches that keep Phantom wanting more.

Sorelle Bakery is a preppy Charlestown hub in a modern space with a wall of windows and a few canvases of soft color. Pale citrus seating, a tiny wine bar, and an outdoor patio encourage the yuppie crowd to linger. |

To begin, a knobby oatmeal scone improved on a plain, fisted figure with a heavenly sweet maple glaze seeping into every crack and crevice. The icing coated cinnamon roll unleashed divine spiced butter from every bite of the flaky, sometimes raw coiled dough. |

The sandwich course included a wonderfully crusty, grilled cubano lined with crunchy dill pickles, chili rubbed pork, ham, melted Swiss cheese, mayo, and spicy mustard. The equally satisfying Dijon-ham combo wedged juicy tomatoes, ultra-creamy avocado between multigrain honey wheat bread slices. |

For dessert, a peanut butter cookie plowed smooth, nutty flavor and gooey chocolate chunks into a golden, crumbly treat. The less aggressive raspberry bundt cake built tart little fruit pockets into a sugar dusted mini ring. |

On portions, plump sandwiches are stuffed to the gills and pastries are the perfect snack attack size. |

Counter servers were quick to assemble, giving Phantom barely enough time to sit before his order was called. |

Pristine cleanliness fit the high end profile, from the marble counter, past the modern cone shaped lights, and into the exposed ductwork ceiling. |

Two dollar treats and $5 to $7 sandwiches are an acceptable price for a leisurely café experience. |
